I am Keith Grossman. It has become my passion to help businesses and individuals manage conflict more comfortably and collaborate.

Unmanaged conflict is the largest reducible cost for any business. Almost half of managers spend more than 20% of their time handling workplace performance problems.

I created this website to help managers easily find information and resources to manage conflict between the employees they supervise. With these tools, you can facilitate a workplace culture that encourages joint problem solving and collaboration.

I hope you find it helpful, and I am available to consult with you about any workplace conflict and collaboration challenges.

How did I go from being a lawyer, a profession known for fighting, to providing conflict management and collaboration services? Click here for my story.

Stop the Compliment Sandwich

"What is a Compliment Sandwich? Well, beyond being one of the worst management techniques ever invented, it's a way of trying to criticize somebody without making them feel bad. Basically, you give somebody a compliment, then you criticize them, then close with a compliment." You can discover my analysis of this technique here.

Unlock Your Creative Genius

Solutions to conflict are typically right in front of us. We just need to be willing to be creative. “Some people wait until they are provoked by [external] forces to change, until their cages are rattled for them and their hand is forced. Artists don’t wait to be rattled only from the outside. They provoke themselves first, and then the people around them, in order to constantly imagine new possibilities." You can discover my analysis here.

What Do Candy Bars and Voodoo Dolls Have To Do With Domestic Fights?

A new study, which was released in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, suggests that low blood sugar can make spouses become angry more quickly.

The lead researcher said, "We need glucose for self-control. Anger is the emotion that most people have difficulty controlling."

The Problem With Totalizing

"Be careful of all-or-nothing thinking, as it will usually steer you wrong during conflict (and in other parts of life, too). Most mediators have learned to see conflict in multiple shades of gray." Read the whole post here.

For Women, a Bigger Share of the Brightest Stages at Wimbledon

Venus Williams: “The tone of the conversation wasn’t really, ‘Oh, you didn’t do this and that,’ It was: ‘Thank you for all the things you’ve done, and you’ve been so wonderful about listening to the players — both men and women — that we’d like to voice our concern on this arena.’ ”

“I think the situation has to be win-win for everyone. No one likes to be pushed around, whether it’s a group or a person. I think if everyone can find a way that makes sense, then it’s a win-win. No one should feel like they’ve lost at the end of the day. I like to make friends.”
